Let me tell you more about our new BODY LUSH HYDRATING WRAP. I just had it last week and my skin felt like a baby's for days. I had it in conjunction with a cleansing facial and they almost had to roll me off the table I was so relaxed.

I started out face down and naked. Don't worry, if you are modest we provide disposable panties. The aesthetician began the treatment by rubbing me down with exfoliating mittens that felt exhilarating and gave me a warm glow. Then a hot towel compress was gently pressed down the length of my back. I flipped over and this was repeated. Next the Body Lush Hydrating Wrap was applied all over in long smooth strokes and I was wrapped up like a gift package in a sheet, and then snuggled into a downy duvet which was tucked under my feet. So while I was cocooned like this for 20 to 30 minutes the facial was begun, and I was in heaven. This product has the most intriguing aroma: part vanilla, part fruit - I really felt delicious!

Upon being unwrapped the masque was smoothed into my skin with a full body light massage. I was helped up into a sitting position (at this point I was like a wet noodle and needed the assistance!) and my back was gently rubbed down with a warm dry towel. I have to say, my skin was radiant. I took a few minutes to gather my wits and left knowing my skin had been treated to a superb hydrating process.

When a facial has a name like this you HAVE to wonder -what on earth is it? Well, I just had it and it is the most relaxing facial I have ever experienced. And on top of that, it hydrates and lifts!

This is preparation for the masque which is applied thickly and smells divine...and before the masque goes on a warm towel is placed under each shoulder blade to help in the relaxation process (as if I needed any!). During the masque my feet were tenderly wiped with another warm towel and gently massaged. This was approaching bliss.

The masque is lifted off, and those magic brushes start again...then a base cream of fruitelia which is so satisfying to the senses, and a long arm stretch over the head, and believe it or not, those brushes again, stroking down my back after yet another warm compress.

NEW! GLYCOLIC PEEL

VITAMIN A BOOSTER FACIAL TREATMENT

This is the time of year! Summer is behind us (they haven't resort into the stores yet), so we have a few months ahead when we can really get serious about our skin. Micro dermabrasion is one of the treatments we offer for the off-season when there is not much sun, but we have a new addition to this type of skincare and it is a real boost a Glycolic PEEL vitamin A boost. Here's what it does: it tightens, making the skin look younger and more glowing and distinctly clearer.

We suggest that you alternate weeks with the three possibilities although your aesthetician will confer with you: One week micro, one week Glycolic PEEL vitamin A booster, and one week with both tell you how they are combined below). It will make a lovely difference to the clarity of your skin.

Once you are tucked up on your treatment bed (with a warm pad underneath to fight the chill of these wet cold days and a feather duvet on top to make you snug) your skin will be cleansed with a light lathering product, rinsed and patted dry.

The peel solution is applied in a light buffing motion avoiding the sensitive eye area. It stays on for a few minutes and is removed with a more vigorous buffing motion.

A glycolic acid is applied carefully to the skin avoiding the eyes. FOR SENSITIVE SKIN we substitute a lactic acid. Whichever you need it stays on for a couple of minutes.

Neutralizer is generously applied next to make sure the acids are no longer active. We rinse and pat dry.

IF YOU ARE DOING THE COMBINATION this is when the MICRODERMABRASION is performed. To briefly recap how microdermabrasion works:

First it Corrects: the speed of the crystal flow causes an abrasive action that gently removes the surface layers of the skin allowing smoother, fresher skin to emerge.
At the same time the treatment Stimulates: The vacuum action helps to stimulate microcirculation increasing the blood supply that provides nutrients needed for skin regeneration. It also stimulates formation of new collagen and elastin to improve skin texture and elasticity.

Returning to the Glycolic PEELVitamin A Booster Treatment a thin layer of Retinyl treatment is applied all over the face, avoiding the eyes. This stays on for 5 minutes and is then removed and your skin rinsed until it is clear of product. Sensitive skins will receive a hydra repair mask instead of the Retinyl.

A few drops of VitA clear serum are gently patted on the skin and allowed to dry. If your skin is sensitive you will receive as a substitute the green tea moisturizer, which has the most delicious fragrance.

Finally, AND EXTREMELY IMPORTANTLY you will be using sun block and we will apply it for you, but earnestly request that you use it every day under your moisturizer.

There are some people who should NOT consider this treatment and I will tell you who (although a lot of the reasons are self evident) and these exceptions are in the protocol that comes with the treatment. Believe me, I could never have thought up some of them!

Not if you have used Accutane within one or two years unless your doctor thinks it is OK.
Not on skins that are sensitive to hyper-pigmentation.
Not if you have a cold sore.
Not if you have moderate to severe rosacea.
Not if you are pregnant or lactating.
Not if you are a Nervous Nellie! and are acting strange. (my term, theirs was mildly insulting).
Not if you have an infectious disease.
Not if there are any open sores on your skin.
Not if you are wearing semi-permanent make-up.

NOW, THE PEOPLE WHO DO WANT TO DO THIS are those who have some moderate wrinkles, any scarring, sun damaged skin, enlarged pores, and those of you who want to correct age spots. And for you, this is a MUST. You will love it, it feels tingly during the process and refreshing after, and your skin will really glow, looking tighter and newer. You will be peeling lightly for a few days and when your face is wet it will tingle again. This is all part of the PEEL process. After the serum application one of our lifting and anti-aging masks will be painted onto your face with a lovely soft brush.
